This week is National Apprenticeship Week, a week-long celebration to shine a light on the positive impact that apprenticeships make to individuals and organisations. We’re so proud to be supporting three of our amazing staff team through apprenticeships at different levels and in different skills. We believe that the practical nature of apprenticeships is perfect for on-the-job learning with support from an educational setting.
Let’s find out more about our apprentices!
Jasmine, Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship
“I have been working at Ruby’s for nearly two years and it’s flown by. Until November 2024 I worked part-time here as a centre assistant, while I was completing an extended diploma in Art and Communication at college. Since then, I have started a new journey on a Level 3 business administrator apprenticeship.
I have really been enjoying my apprenticeship so far; it’s opened up a whole new side of Ruby’s and what we have to offer. So far, I’ve enjoyed learning about the organisation’s vision, mission and values. I’m excited to continue broadening my knowledge and so grateful I was offered this chance. Most importantly I get to continue working with the amazing team at Ruby’s.”
Heidi, Level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship
“I’m Heidi, and I have worked at Ruby’s for 8 months in the cafe and occasionally helping with SEND sessions. I am doing a Level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship. I have only just started my apprenticeship but am looking forward to learning everything about it! I have never really known what I wanted to do as a job, but when I came to Ruby’s, I just loved working with the children and getting to know their needs. I’m not sure where this apprenticeship will take me, but I know I am really enjoying my time now.”
Chloe, Level 4 Children, Young People, and Families apprenticeship
“Before I started my adventure here at Ruby’s, I completed my Level 2 childcare apprenticeship while working in a small nursery. During my time there, I made a special bond with a little boy that is autistic. I became his 1:1 and it made me realise how much I enjoy supporting special families.
I have been working at Ruby’s for 15 months now and I am currently completing my Level 4 Children, Young People, and Families apprenticeship with De Montfort University. Since beginning this course, I have enjoyed expanding my knowledge, understanding the wider aspects of children, and meeting different lecturers who teach a range of topics.
Once I have completed this course, I will have achieved a great qualification and will have real world experience working with children, young people, and families. I can’t wait to continue this journey and I am so grateful for Alison’s leadership throughout this experience.”
Alison, Ruby’s CEO says, ‘Apprenticeships have been an excellent way to invest in our team here at Ruby’s. They are all undertaking apprenticeships after at least six months employment with us. They are all passionate about Ruby’s and are dedicated to supporting the children and families who come to Ruby’s. We’re very proud of them.’
